Skydiving.

Free falling from 4,000 m above the Earth … Well, I will remember that minute of my life for ever. It is one of a kind, out-of-body experience. The speed is sick (220 km/h) and I remember feeling such preasure on my body for the first few seconds, I could hardly breathe. But soon after, my mind went wild – you sort of get what’s going on …

Update and some sunny photos. Finally!

Well, it’s been a while since the last snow and the last post on this blog! Our BWT blog truly is a free-time blog, as lately I had very little free time for writing something new. But a lot of new things are happening anyway. We can smell the spring comming, it’s just around the corner and we are very excited about warm days ahead …

Weekend escape.

I really needed a proper weekend escape. October and November have been so busy, I don’t remember half of it. Besides a few hikes to the mountains, it’s been all work and not much free time – you can tell by the lack of content on this blog as well. So last weekend’s retreat in Podčetrtek felt like a blessing. Saint Nicholas, that was the best gift of all! (Thanks, Mom.)

Sunny October.

From rainy September to sunny October, doesn’t it sometimes feel like time’s flying? Well, a lot has been going on. We are working on new projects, I’ve been busy with work and diploma thesis – but still wanted to post a few photos of me and my favorite tawny friend, enjoying this amazing weather near our cottage house in hills above Vipava Valley …

Vintgar Gorge.

For a few days in June, I was a tourist guide for my cousin from Australia and the task was not hard at all – there are so many pretty spots around the country worth visiting. We didn’t have time to visit them all, however Bled was obviously first one on her bucket list and it really is a must see. After paddling to the island and hiking to the castle above the lake, …

Spa and frosty woods.

After a great weekend, this Monday morning didn’t seem that bad at all. We had an amazing time in Podcetrtek, enjoying spa in Terme Olimia, pampering ourselves in Wellness Orhidelia and hiking around Kozjanski Park. The Orhidelia wellness place is such a treat, pools and saunas are so luxurious, we really were impressed …

Celebrating St. Martin in Goriska Brda.

I actualy prefer mature wine, but St. Martin’s celebrations of young wine, happening in November all across Slovenia, are always a great fun. Goriska Brda have been “our spot” for tastings and gathering for a few years now. A good glass, yummy prosciutto and great company – St. Martin’s weekend might be my favourite one in the month …

Picking rosehips.

Nanos is a beautiful highland, that greets us everytime we’re driving home and waves goodbye when we’re leaving Vipava Valley on our way back to Ljubljana. It’s a popular spot for hiking, climbing, for picnics – and of course, it’s a great place for our hyper vizsla to run around. We left our hometown earlier today and spent few hours on the top, enjoying in the sun …

Tails and horns.

A quick update on how we’re spending this autumn so far. Well, Mendi is growing up fast and Oto is still as playful as ever, they’re such a funny pair of tails. We’re trying to spend our days outside as much as we can, before all the leaves will fall off and it will get colder – though heaps of leaves can be a lot of fun too. Today we spent the afternoon visiting our neighbours goats …

Relax.

Taking your dog out for a walk everyday, rain or sunshine, sure requires some effort and commitment. But with time you figure it out. It’s not all black and white – it’s actualy easier than it seems. Most importantly, it’s a game changer! Now, I can’t live without all the afternoon walks, morning runs, weekend hikes etc. I need it in my daily routine …
