Pula sightseeing.

After we heard they have special icecream for dogs in Pula, we had to check it out. Oto loved it! He didn’t mind they only had one flavor and finished that scoop so fast we were almost too late to get a photo of him in front of the Gelateria. Afterwards we took a walk around historic city center, enjoyed the sun, grabbed some hazelnut croissants and let our vizsla’s nose lead the way. My favourite and probably most famous sight in Pula is the Roman amphitheatre, known locally as the Arena. It’s so well preserved, massive and dramatic.

Hard to miss and a must-see!

I also love the Temple of Augustus that you find at the old Forum, if you stroll down the streets from the Arch of the Sergii. Antique remainings always impress me and that’s why I like to visit Pula when I’m in Istria. The city itself is nothing extra special, you can tell it’s been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times, but at the same time it holds so many great Roman ruins. Well, all historic treasures aside, for our tawny tail it probably still felt unnecessary to take photos in front of – what might seem to him as simply – gigantic heaps of stones.

Civil engineer with a lot of interests like traveling, food, taking care for my plants, running and hiking! Currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Always up for a coffee date, usually stolling around citycenter, most happy when there's time for a walk in the woods after work hours. In love with my two boys - one of them walking on four legs and wiggling with a tawny tail.
