Good morning views.

I’m pretty sure Smarna Gora and Grmada count more as Ljubljana spots over a Hiking! destination. Don’t take me wrong though, your heart will be pumping if taking steeper paths to the top, but don’t worry – it’s quick and fun. Most importantly, both peaks of the hill offer such lovely views all around and over Ljubljana …

It’s an illusion!

Illusions are fun – and fun was what we needed on this rainy and moody Saturday. So we headed to Museum of Illusions at Ljubljana’s Congress Square for a quick look and had a lot of fun visiting the rooms and experiencing illusions. We loved Rotated room, the Vortex Tunnel, Aeames room and Head on the platter installation the most …

Heat wave escape.

The heat wave has been around for a week now and it made us stay inside till late hours everyday – having time to repot plants, do the laundry, work on projects and master’s thesis, but boring our vizsla to death. Short walks and runs get us through the week however Oto doesn’t really seem to enjoy it, it’s still so hot in the city even late in the evenings …

B-day brunch.

I love good brunch spots around Ljubljana and I’m glad there are quite a few to choose from. Yet I never mind for new ones to open, it’s always exciting to try out new places “in the search of the best poached egg in town”. Ek bistro opened its doors a while ago and I knew it would be a perfect spot to celebrate my belated b-day with my girlfriends …

Festive December.

The lights are on, the Christmas tree at Preseren Square shines bright and the city center is crowded, so it’s safe to say the festive December in Ljubljana is in its ful swing! It’s almost too much to handle at times – it’s loud, the lights are a bit crazy and you will need 10 more minutes to get from one spot to another. But …

Fine dining.

We are ending this October with some good food! Teden restavracij is a flavorful week in every spring and autumn, when some of best Slovenian restaurants offer special menus for a rather friendly price. We love food and every season we’re excited to visit a different restaurant and experience something new. This time around …

Colourful walks.

Leaves started to fall off so I guess autumn is in full swing. It’s all happening so fast, we took these photos over the weekend and today all of the small maple trees on our street are half bare already. It’s such a colourful season and so far we enjoy it alot – not counting lower temperatures though, that make us freeze in the mornings!

For burger and
beer lovers.

This is the weekend to visit Ljubljana if you love burgers and beer as we do. Pivo&Burger Fest is a great festival that offers a variety of burgers for anyone’s taste and quite a selection of beers, mostly from craft Slovenian brewers. We’ve been attending the festival since the very start in October 2014 – it’s a great oportunity to try new burger flavours and combinations …

Good morning Ljubljana.

We’re taking this weekend real easy. A lot has been going on and when life gets busier, a few days without any plans are much appreciated. It was a warm sunny morning, so we decided to take our vizsla out for a walk and have breakfast in the city. Kavarna Rog is one of many great breakfast places in Ljubljana city-center. Staff is lovely, food is yummy …

A city boy.

Featured Image

May is a great month to enjoy the city before it gets way too hot in the following summer months. It’s already really warm here in Ljubljana, but it also gets a bit chilly in a shadow, with a light breeze … Ah it feels amazing and we take as many opportunities as we get to stroll around the city with our vizsla boy. Some of our favourite city activities are …
