Pictures don’t even make this stunning islands justice, no camera can capture how raw and wild and beautiful it is over there. After spending a few days at La Maddalena archipelago, I am putting this place on my ideal holiday spot list. The coastline is rocky which I love, to the best bays you have to (of course, learned that already) hike and …

Civil engineer with a lot of interests like traveling, food, taking care for my plants, running and hiking! Currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Always up for a coffee date, usually stolling around citycenter, most happy when there's time for a walk in the woods after work hours. In love with my two boys - one of them walking on four legs and wiggling with a tawny tail.
Shades of blue.
Cala, meaning small bay, is my new favorite word. And Sardinia seems to be full of them! But most spectacular ones you’ll find on the Eastern coast, in the Ogliastra area. Today we already hiked to another one of them – Cala Luna. Set against a backdrop of steep limestone cliffs and caves, it is pretty amazing as well. But this post is about Cala Goloritze …
Canyon Gorropu
This spectacular canyon wasn’t really in our plans – but after all the hiking on West, we quickly figured that Sardinia has more to offer than just turquoise clear blue seas. And as we are currently staying so close to the National Park of Orosei and Gennargentu, we simply had to see what it has to offer. We started our hike at Genna Silana pass …
Wild West.
After a few days on the Western coast of Sardinia, we are leaving for East tomorrow. At the beginning, we were struggling with finding a camp that would suit our needs, but finally found quite a special place to stay. Camping at Torre del Porticciolo hasn’t only been a great starting point for our trips around Alghero and visiting La Pelosa on the North, it’s a rather …
Breath in. Breath out.
We’re off! Already in Sardinia actually. We couldn’t have picked a better location for our summer holidays – it’s different and it’s wild. All I need at times like this when my mind is tired and needs some real time off. It’s been crazy lately, so many things kept my body and heart busy … But distance really does it, a few days on this island …
Let’s go for a run.
Having a vizsla is great fun. That’s why we love to include Oto in our daily activities, we all benefit from it. I could easily write a post about hiking together as that’s probably our favorite hobby – I’ve also already touched upon topics like camping or city strolling with your dog. However today, I’m sharing a few tips about running with your furry friend …
Update and some sunny photos. Finally!
Well, it’s been a while since the last snow and the last post on this blog! Our BWT blog truly is a free-time blog, as lately I had very little free time for writing something new. But a lot of new things are happening anyway. We can smell the spring comming, it’s just around the corner and we are very excited about warm days ahead …
New snow.
After a few days of heavy snowing, Ljubljana – and pretty much all other parts of Slovenia as well – is once again covered in white. Unfortunately, I’m stuck at the desk with some work, so we only got to enjoy in little walks around the city. As our vizsla is short coated, we let him play in heaps of snow only for a short time anyway …
What a view over Riva.
Mom kept telling me we should return home (from our holidays in Serrada) via Rovereto and stop in Riva del Gardo. As I’ve been to beautiful Sirmione on the south of the Lake Garda before, I didn’t think the shore can offer much more … But as we were leaving Rovereto, behind one particular corner, the view took our breath away …
Frosty, foggy, sunny.
So far we’re having a lovely time here in Serrada on our skiing holidays and as per usual, it’s passing by way too fast. The weather has been very busy – there were frosty mornings and foggy afternoons … but every day, sun somehow finds its way through the clouds, clears the sky and keeps us warm. Moody as it may seem …
