Nanos in Spring.

Days are now long and so warm – spring is finally here and it felt great hiking to Nanos only in a T-shirt yesterday. We love this hiking path to Nanos, it’s fun and quick and offers great views on many spots along the way. Oto had a blast too, Nanos plateau is the best place for hyper dogs to run around and we were happy to see how easily he managed with the trail …

B-day brunch.

I love good brunch spots around Ljubljana and I’m glad there are quite a few to choose from. Yet I never mind for new ones to open, it’s always exciting to try out new places “in the search of the best poached egg in town”. Ek bistro opened its doors a while ago and I knew it would be a perfect spot to celebrate my belated b-day with my girlfriends …

Surrounded by beauty.

So far, this was my absolute favorite top I have ever hiked to. What a view Goli vrh offers – the Kamnik-Savinja Alps are literally at your fingertips! After hiking the entire path through the woods, the bare summit (hence the name) overlooking the Jezersko Valley and the powerful mountains all around, takes your breath away. Plus the skies were clear blue and …

The Dolomites.

Alert, more snow content! This winter has been cold, even freezing at some points, but it hasn’t been very white – so for the weekends it seems like we opt for higher altitudes, searching for snow. Italian Dolomites are my favourite destination for skiing, they are so picturesque. We went skiing in Forni di Sopra …

Heaps of snow.

Foggy and dull weather is still going strong, but we couldn’t keep inside for another day and so decided to go hiking to Menina Planina. We knew there might be some snow, but on our way to Vivodnik summit none of us expected to almost get stuck in heaps of snow – my snow gaiters saved the day! It was beautiful nonetheless. Well, my iPhone froze ofcourse, but luckily …

It was fun!

Although there was almost no snow which let us down a bit, we still had an amazing holidays in Italy a week ago. It’s all over now and the come-back to reality was tough – after a week of sunshine and winter fun, Ljubljana greeted us all foggy and dull. But memories keep me warm and our little Winter holidays video makes me smile every time I recall …

La cima Vezzena.

Tired but stubborn! We weren’t sure if another hike was a good idea after we packed our suitcases and our winter holidays were about to end. A whole week of skiing for long hours every day got our legs tired – and us a bit lazy. But the sunny weather outside was just too good not to take advantage of, so we decided to hike La cima Vezzena nearby …

Hiking in Italy.

Spending winter holidays in Italy with our dogs doesn’t only mean a lot of skiing – but also a lot of walks and hikes around our ski resort Folgaria. Mendi and Oto had so much fun when we hiked to Monte Finonchio the other day. We hoped to catch the sunset on the top and did just that, the view really paid off. We also took a late hike to Forte Dosso del Sommo

Snow!

Snow is finally here and every year I get excited to sled, make a snowman, play snow wars with snow balls, ski and snowboard … snow is so much fun! Our skiing holidays in Italy are a week away, but while counting down the days, we had to make the most out of the first snow this winter and decided to go sledding with our dogs and cousin Lara. We had such a great time!

Time to put some layers on?

Uh, it’s cold outside. This week temperatures got real low and out vizsla was freezing his butt off. I never thought I’ll be dressing my own dog, it seemed silly to me once – but our short-coated tawny tail doesn’t cope well with frigid temperatures. So our VizslaTea coat came in mail just in time. After getting used to it, Oto now loves it and when it’s cold …
