Alert, more snow content! This winter has been cold, even freezing at some points, but it hasn’t been very white – so for the weekends it seems like we opt for higher altitudes, searching for snow. Italian Dolomites are my favourite destination for skiing, they are so picturesque. We went skiing in Forni di Sopra …

It was fun!
Although there was almost no snow which let us down a bit, we still had an amazing holidays in Italy a week ago. It’s all over now and the come-back to reality was tough – after a week of sunshine and winter fun, Ljubljana greeted us all foggy and dull. But memories keep me warm and our little Winter holidays video makes me smile every time I recall …
La cima Vezzena.
Tired but stubborn! We weren’t sure if another hike was a good idea after we packed our suitcases and our winter holidays were about to end. A whole week of skiing for long hours every day got our legs tired – and us a bit lazy. But the sunny weather outside was just too good not to take advantage of, so we decided to hike La cima Vezzena nearby …
Hiking in Italy.
Spending winter holidays in Italy with our dogs doesn’t only mean a lot of skiing – but also a lot of walks and hikes around our ski resort Folgaria. Mendi and Oto had so much fun when we hiked to Monte Finonchio the other day. We hoped to catch the sunset on the top and did just that, the view really paid off. We also took a late hike to Forte Dosso del Sommo …
A day trip to Krka.
On our way home from Primosten we made a spontaneous decision to stop at Krka National Park and walk our vizsla before the long drive. It was windy by the coast that day plus the Park is near Sibenik, so it seemed like a good idea overall. Well, it turned out it was a great idea! The place is stunning and although it’s not as big or as majestic as Plitvice Lakes …
Let’s explore.
We’ve been hiking around Primosten and exploring the land everyday since we got here. And while I’ve always admired Dalmatian clear turquoise sea, the landscape seemed rather unexciting to me, so rocky and rugged. But this time around I found little paths of white karst stone, with olive trees along them and crickets singing in the background, so very charming …
Under the
Dalmatian sun.
Second day in Dalmatia and we already feel as we’re back home. It’s because we are spending our summers here regulary, we’ve been coming back to Primosten time and time again, it’s been years … We love everything about this place. The vibe, the smell, the sea, the food – the list goes on and on. Our vizsla took the long drive very well and also got used to the climate rather quickly.
Kamenjak.
The southernmost cape of Istria and my favourite spot around here. I love this place, it makes me happy everytime I visit it. I spent two days at Cape Kamenjak last week and this photos are from the time we went hiking around the Cape with our tawny tail. The second time around it was warmer and I even took the first dip in the sea this year …
Pula sightseeing.
After we heard they have special icecream for dogs in Pula, we had to check it out. Oto loved it! He didn’t mind they only had one flavor and finished that scoop so fast we were almost too late to get a photo of him in front of the Gelateria. Afterwards we took a walk around historic city center, enjoyed the sun, grabbed some hazelnut croissants and let our vizsla’s nose lead the way …
Holidays in Istria.
Greetings from Fazana! We are currently on our first summer holidays this year and even though the temperatures are not the highest, we are having a wonderful time. Our vizsla boy loves the sea and seems to enjoy camping and cycling along the coast with us. Fazana is a perfect little village for a morning stroll coffee by the sea and buying fresh seafood …
