Take us to mountains – and you’ll end up with one happy girl and one happy vizsla. 6 hours, 15 km and 1.100 m of altitude on a sunny Saturday sound perfect to me. It’s the best way to take all of your worries out of the head and be present in the moment. Good company, the views, and tasty food are just a plus …

Civil engineer with a lot of interests like traveling, food, taking care for my plants, running and hiking! Currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Always up for a coffee date, usually stolling around citycenter, most happy when there's time for a walk in the woods after work hours. In love with my two boys - one of them walking on four legs and wiggling with a tawny tail.
Hiking again!
Of course we missed hiking. In rainy September weekends we were stuck inside, so we are very excited for this sunny and warm fall weather and are planning to hike as much as we’ll be able to. For a start, we joined our friend last Sunday and headed off north to visit the Karawanks again. We love the Karawanks, the view over Triglav and Julian Alps is simply the best …
Sunny October.
From rainy September to sunny October, doesn’t it sometimes feel like time’s flying? Well, a lot has been going on. We are working on new projects, I’ve been busy with work and diploma thesis – but still wanted to post a few photos of me and my favorite tawny friend, enjoying this amazing weather near our cottage house in hills above Vipava Valley …
It’s an illusion!
Illusions are fun – and fun was what we needed on this rainy and moody Saturday. So we headed to Museum of Illusions at Ljubljana’s Congress Square for a quick look and had a lot of fun visiting the rooms and experiencing illusions. We loved Rotated room, the Vortex Tunnel, Aeames room and Head on the platter installation the most …
Meeting Capricorns.
It’s been a week since our last hike in Friulian Dolomites and we miss it so much. We loved the peaceful villages, easy pace of living and mostly, hiking in beautiful mountains almost by ourselves … Well, not exactly by ourselves, we met a few hikers here and there, our last hike to Monte Borga however, we met more capricorns than people …
The story about Casso.
After two days of hiking, we decided we need a day-off. Oto needed to rest and we wanted to explore around. We started our day with coffee and brioche in Erto, continued our way through Vajont Valley and soon found ourselves in an old village Casso under the Monte Borga. The village is beautiful, charming and so peaceful …
Heaven on Earth?
On our 2nd day in The Dolomites we hiked an amazing path via Forcella Del Leone to Bivacco Antonio Marchi e Renzo Granzotto. Let’s say we got used to the spectacular views around here the day before – as Campanile is surely best-known spot in Friulian Dolomites – but looking back, the mountain scenery on the path …
Celebrating in Dolomites
Oto turned 2 years old today and we are celebrating his b-day with a long weekend of hiking in Friulian Dolomites. We hiked to Campanile di Val Montanaia today and stopped almost on every step to take it all in. You just can’t believe the views in here. The 200 m high pinnacle Campanile is breathtaking and surrounfing mountain tops are amazing too …
Visiting Mr. Storzic.
We both agreed the path to the top of the Storzic from Mace was our favourite so far. In days after the hike, our tired legs felt that 1,500 m of elevation – but honestly, when hiking it was too fun to mind the steep path. We could tell that the peak was foggy when approaching from Ljubljana and it made me sad at the beginning …
Heat wave escape.
The heat wave has been around for a week now and it made us stay inside till late hours everyday – having time to repot plants, do the laundry, work on projects and master’s thesis, but boring our vizsla to death. Short walks and runs get us through the week however Oto doesn’t really seem to enjoy it, it’s still so hot in the city even late in the evenings …
