The extended weekend that’s almost behind us was perfect for some hiking around our Vipava Valley. Although hills around the Valley are not really high, they still offer amazing views reaching Trzaski Zaliv and further. We hiked Mount Kucelj from village Vrtovin yesterday. We thaught it would be easier but the path is quite chalenging and steep …

Civil engineer with a lot of interests like traveling, food, taking care for my plants, running and hiking! Currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Always up for a coffee date, usually stolling around citycenter, most happy when there's time for a walk in the woods after work hours. In love with my two boys - one of them walking on four legs and wiggling with a tawny tail.
Happy 1st b-day Oto!
Our little tawny tail is not that little anymore. He just turned 1 year old today and we are celebrating his b-day with a yummy meat cake – yummy for Oto that is – and some fun by the river, since he loves splashing in the water the most. Last time around at Iska Gorge, we had GoPro camera with us, so we filmed Oto having fun, fetching sticks and swimming. The video is over here!
Relax.
Taking your dog out for a walk everyday, rain or sunshine, sure requires some effort and commitment. But with time you figure it out. It’s not all black and white – it’s actualy easier than it seems. Most importantly, it’s a game changer! Now, I can’t live without all the afternoon walks, morning runs, weekend hikes etc. I need it in my daily routine …
Let your dog play in the water, but …
Our tawny tail loves the water. Since he figured out how to swim, it’s always a problem getting him out of it, may it be the sea, river or lake. He enjoys it a lot, finds swimming fun, even dives in for an interesting looking stone and loves to fetch sticks, balls – anything you throw for him to catch really. So we let him play and enjoy in the splashing, but after some experience …
Golica.
Views like this make me want to hike more and more. I’ve only recently became drawn to mountains and have only been hiking more frequently in the last two years – and I feel like I’ve been missing out on so much. I love the feeling of pushing yourself forward, the excitement on the top and of course – the views. Golica is a peak in the Western Karawanks and when on top …
Fun above the treetops.
Climbing trees and riding zip-lines sounds like a great way to have fun with your friends and family – and it is. We decided to visit Adventure park Geoss and I can easily recommend it to anyone, our experience was great. It was actually a belated b-day gift for our little cousin and I can tell this was her favourite present so far. However this place is not for kids only …
Refreshing adventure.
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content right? We decided to escape the hot weather and so headed north, in hopes of finding lower temperatures in the Soca Valley. Our first stop was at Napoleon bridge, from where a pleasant path leads you through forest to one picturesque waterfall. The trail si quite popular and can therefore be crowded …
A day trip to Krka.
On our way home from Primosten we made a spontaneous decision to stop at Krka National Park and walk our vizsla before the long drive. It was windy by the coast that day plus the Park is near Sibenik, so it seemed like a good idea overall. Well, it turned out it was a great idea! The place is stunning and although it’s not as big or as majestic as Plitvice Lakes …
Let’s explore.
We’ve been hiking around Primosten and exploring the land everyday since we got here. And while I’ve always admired Dalmatian clear turquoise sea, the landscape seemed rather unexciting to me, so rocky and rugged. But this time around I found little paths of white karst stone, with olive trees along them and crickets singing in the background, so very charming …
Under the
Dalmatian sun.
Second day in Dalmatia and we already feel as we’re back home. It’s because we are spending our summers here regulary, we’ve been coming back to Primosten time and time again, it’s been years … We love everything about this place. The vibe, the smell, the sea, the food – the list goes on and on. Our vizsla took the long drive very well and also got used to the climate rather quickly.
