Nanos is a beautiful highland, that greets us everytime we’re driving home and waves goodbye when we’re leaving Vipava Valley on our way back to Ljubljana. It’s a popular spot for hiking, climbing, for picnics – and of course, it’s a great place for our hyper vizsla to run around. We left our hometown earlier today and spent few hours on the top, enjoying in the sun …
Tails and horns.
A quick update on how we’re spending this autumn so far. Well, Mendi is growing up fast and Oto is still as playful as ever, they’re such a funny pair of tails. We’re trying to spend our days outside as much as we can, before all the leaves will fall off and it will get colder – though heaps of leaves can be a lot of fun too. Today we spent the afternoon visiting our neighbours goats …
Sunny autumn.
Autumn started all sunny and warm and we’re planning to make the most out of it. We hiked to Otlisko Okno a few times before – it’s a fun hike, not too long and not too harsh, that leads you from the spring of Hubelj river to a huge hole in the rock on the top. Double fun.
Mendi was on her first proper holidays in Ljubljana this week – so now we do have an idea of how it’s like to own two dogs in a small appartment in the city. It’s a lot of fun but yes, It’s also a little bit crazy. First of all, Oto is not very mature jet so it was like having two puppies. Plus, they are a rather different energy-level dogs …
Rainy days
Autumn is on its way, days are shorter and also rainy more often. Hence we’re always looking for new ways to have fun with our vizsla inside and make the most out of gloomy days like this one today. Oto doesn’t make us lose our minds on days we have to spend indoors – he gets lazy and naps even more, he doesn’t like to be out in the rain anyway …

We’re taking this weekend real easy. A lot has been going on and when life gets busier, a few days without any plans are much appreciated. It was a warm sunny morning, so we decided to take our vizsla out for a walk and have breakfast in the city. Kavarna Rog is one of many great breakfast places in Ljubljana city-center. On Oto’s 1st b-day, my mom and dad brought home a new puppy! Sometimes it seems like she’s been a b-day gift for our tawny tail, because he’s too happy to have another pup to play with. Mendi is actualy an early b-day present for our mum, who’s turning 50 in November. She wanted another furry family companion, to be exact – she wanted a cocker spaniel …

We are re-discovering hills around Vipava Valley on the weekends that we’re spending in our hometown, so we re-visited Mali Golak last Saturday. It’s a rainy August day, my vizsla boy is sleeping on the sofa and even the second cup of coffee doesn’t seem to help. So when I feel uninspired like that I often find myself in the kitchen, baking.
