Low temperatures didn’t bother our pack as we decided to take full advantage of amazing sunny and clear skies on the first Saturday in 2017. Little tails were having so much fun on the snow that surprised us on our hike to Mont Krim. I believe it was also the first time for Mendi to experience and play with snow and she loved it as much as Oto does …

Civil engineer with a lot of interests like traveling, food, taking care for my plants, running and hiking! Currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Always up for a coffee date, usually stolling around citycenter, most happy when there's time for a walk in the woods after work hours. In love with my two boys - one of them walking on four legs and wiggling with a tawny tail.
Happy Holidays!
Christmas is over and I cannot believe this year’s waving us goodbye. It was a great year, full of ups and downs but overall a one to remember. It was a special year for “our pack” as well – we got to spend our first skiing holidays with our vizsla boy, went camping in Istria and Dalmatia, celebrated Oto’s 1st b-day and so much more …
Cheers!
Last week we attended my favourite wine festival! Vinski Univerzum was happening in Grand Hotel Union in Ljubljana for the second time and yet again it was a such a fun experience. It’s basically a wine tasting event, gathering many slovenian wine makers and young generations to learn, experience and enjoy in an amazing wine selection …
Spa and frosty woods.
After a great weekend, this Monday morning didn’t seem that bad at all. We had an amazing time in Podcetrtek, enjoying spa in Terme Olimia, pampering ourselves in Wellness Orhidelia and hiking around Kozjanski Park. The Orhidelia wellness place is such a treat, pools and saunas are so luxurious, we really were impressed …
It’s been a year.
Exactly a year ago – today, this happy tawny tail hopped on our little sofa for the first time. Time truly flies, this puppy has grown up, but so far he kept his soul playful and curious, making us smile every single day. It was a bold decision, at least it seemed like one back then … we were making a huge research …
Festive December.
The lights are on, the Christmas tree at Preseren Square shines bright and the city center is crowded, so it’s safe to say the festive December in Ljubljana is in its ful swing! It’s almost too much to handle at times – it’s loud, the lights are a bit crazy and you will need 10 more minutes to get from one spot to another. But …
Celebrating St. Martin in Goriska Brda.
I actualy prefer mature wine, but St. Martin’s celebrations of young wine, happening in November all across Slovenia, are always a great fun. Goriska Brda have been “our spot” for tastings and gathering for a few years now. A good glass, yummy prosciutto and great company – St. Martin’s weekend might be my favourite one in the month …
Tomato soup
I stopped counting how many times have I made this soup over the last month or so. It’s been a favourite for a while, so it felt apropriate to share this simple recipe – though most of my friends and family have already seen it on my Instagram or Snapchat, heard me talking about it or even tried it out when visiting. I love it, it’s a great soup and honestly, I’m not even a big tomato fan …
Fine dining.
We are ending this October with some good food! Teden restavracij is a flavorful week in every spring and autumn, when some of best Slovenian restaurants offer special menus for a rather friendly price. We love food and every season we’re excited to visit a different restaurant and experience something new. This time around …
Colourful walks.
Leaves started to fall off so I guess autumn is in full swing. It’s all happening so fast, we took these photos over the weekend and today all of the small maple trees on our street are half bare already. It’s such a colourful season and so far we enjoy it alot – not counting lower temperatures though, that make us freeze in the mornings!
